    The 503rd Maintenance Company (Direct Support), is an active duty Army unit from Fort Bragg, North Carolina. They are part of 1st Corps Support Command (COSCOM). Their unit slogan is “Cold Steel,” a phrase the unit members proudly proclaim whenever they render a salute.
    The 201 members of the 503rd arrived at Taszár on August 6, 1997, and are scheduled to remain until August, 1998.
    The 503rd performs a variety of ISB operations. The operate both of the railheads at Taszár, the marshaling area, and the Life Support Activity (LSA). They provide Direct Support (DS) maintenance to the transient units passing through the ISB.  They operate the Convoy Support Center at Virovitica, Croatia, and provide personnel to the redeployment/deployment staging base (RSB) at Slavonski Brod, Croatia.  They have also provided personnel who have served as escorts in the 111th's Reception, Staging, and Onward Movement (RSO) cell.
